Williamsburg city manager resigns
Michele Mixner DeWitt appointed interim city manager

Williamsburg City Council accepted the resignation of City Manager Andrew O. Trivette in a hastily called meeting this morning.
In a special session that had not been on the city meetings site earlier this week, City Council appointed Deputy City Manager Michele Mixner DeWitt as interim city manager.
A city press release said the council would give no other details about Trivette’s departure because it was a personnel matter.
However, city council did call a closed-door session Feb. 12 for what it said was a personnel evaluation of Trivette, who had already received his regular evaluation last summer.
Trivette joined the city in 2016 as assistant city manager and was appointed city manager two years later.
DeWitt was hired by the city in 2005 to serve as the city’s first economic development director.
