Teacher arrested for sexual assault on students

James City County police arrested a Warhill High School math teacher Monday, charging him with sexual assault and assault and battery of a minor for his alleged actions with three female students.
Andre Scione, 34, of Geddy Terrace in Toano, was taken to the Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail pending his release on bond, according to police.
Scione is charged with engaging in inappropriate conduct with the three female students, which police said began in 2024 when they were attending Toano Middle School. Scione was a math teacher at Toano during the 2024-2025 school year, then went to Warhill High for the 2025-2026 school year.
Police said an investigation began in October 2025 when a victim first came forward. The Williamsburg-James City County school division placed Scione on administrative leave Oct. 2, a school spokesperson told us.
