The suspect in the shooting death of an 18-year-old boy turned himself in to the Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail Monday night, the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s department announced.
Williamsburg resident Jayquone Lee Jones, 20, is charged with murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, the office announced.
He was arrested for the Aug. 7 death of 18-year-old Caleb Zecharia Cotman of the 100 block of Emma Rose Court.
Deputies arrived at the scene at 9:50 that night and found Cotman had been shot in the chest. He was taken to Riverside Doctors Hospital nearby, where he later died.
