Not so fast...James City supervisors delay vote on two high-density housing projects
It's Feb. 11. Westwood Park mixed use project vote delayed to April 14. Also today, Lacrosse getting closer in local schools, York Schools propose $206 million budget.
James City County supervisors made no decisions on two high density developments at their Tuesday night meeting, pushing them back until April 14.
The biggest project they delayed considering was Westwood Park, a proposed mixed-use project on 79 acres of surplus Eastern State Hospital land bordering New Town.
The development would include up to 155 homes, including multifamily units, and up to 24,000 square feet of commercial space.
The supervisors voted to open the public hearing but delay the discussion until April 14. That maneuver spared the county from having to advertise another public hearing.
They also voted to delay a decision on a request to amend the master plan for Ford’s Village at 3889 News Road. Frye Development, LLC is asking to build 270 single family and multifamily homes, and double the number of apartments it originally proposed to 160.
