James City County lost seven of its Flock license plate surveillance cameras to vandalism over the summer, Chief Mark Jamison said.
His comments came during a Williamsburg Watch town hall last week with local law enforcement leaders, where they defended license plate cameras as key law enforcement tools that do not impinge on privacy.
“Seven of ours have been damaged,” Jamison said. “...Vandalized, damaged, thrown into a marsh and destroyed. So for whoever’s, you know, if you know anybody that may be involved in that, just remember that you’re preventing potentially a crime being solved.”
