Good morning! James City County supervisors voted 4-1 to begin site work on the new county government center. House of delegates forum is tonight. Curbside recycling resumes in James City County.
Why does James City County need to control recycling? Residents deal direct with trash pick up companies. There was an opportunity for us to do that with TFC.
If the County had gotten out of the way I could have gotten recycling service cheaper and had service restored immediately. Instead my can is at the curb, hoping we get picked up at a higher price. Good test case for consolidated trash. But like the Gov Center, our supervisors know best.

The County actually is planning to centralize all trash collection in a few years, they have pilot program set up in Grove to test.
