County Man Killed in Home Invasion
County couple arrested in connection with two home invasions
A 67-year old man was killed and a woman injured during a home invasion in the 9400 block of Diascund Reservoir Road Friday, James City County police said.
Police arrested 29-year-old Harley James McClure Hutchens and Amber Nicole Johnson, 28, both of James City County, four hours after being called to the scene.
They were charged in connection with Friday’s assault as well as a previous home invasion that took place in the same neighborhood the day before, police said.
Police arrived at the scene of the fatal attack at 2:04 Friday afternoon and found an injured woman outside the home. The 67-year-old man inside was unresponsive and, despite resuscitation attempts, was pronounced dead at 3 pm by medical personnel, police said.
Neither victim was immediately named. The woman was taken to the hospital and treated, and her injuries were not considered life-threatening.
Hutchens faces seven charges including strangulation, robbery and breaking and entering into a dwelling. Johnson was charged with robbery, breaking and entering into a dwelling and conspiracy to commit a felony,
Both suspects were taken to the Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail.
This is not ok . This stuff shouldn't be happening in Williamsburg.
Terrible and so extremely sad! It just reminds one to be extra cautious in these troubled days.
