James City County supervisors are scheduled to vote today on the fate of The Bluffs at Kiskiack – a proposed development that would transform 276 acres near Croaker into 704 homes, commercial and office spaces as well as a unique open-air museum.
County planning staff recommended the project be denied, and 913 residents signed an online petition against it.
The county planning commission voted 3-2 to recommend approval. Powhatan representative Vincent Passero, who voted against it, told Williamsburg Watch after an August community town hall information developers shared that night eased his concerns.
